Hightec Composite Shipbuilding

Workboats, Pilot and Patrol boats, Passenger liners, House boats and Yachts made of modern Composite Materials

BALTEC Shipyard

The Baltec shipyard is a small, highly innovative shipyard in the well-established shipbuilding location Lübeck . Together with the company's own engineering office Cat Design and with experienced and dedicated employees, highest requirements on shipbuilding are realised with most modern construction technologies.

50% weight reduction due to light weight composite construction

Composite sandwich construction as trendsetting light weight technology for the small shipbuilding industry is our strength! By using this technology the dead weight of our ships from 12m house boat to fast pilot boats and passenger liners is reduced up to 50% compared to aluminium build vessels without reduction of strength or safety.

50% fuel consumption and CO2 emission

By halving the ship's displacement at constant waterline length the necessary engine input gets halved too. Thereby considerable savings potentials arise for fuel consumption and CO2 emission.

Modulus light weight constructions for various industrial demands

Not only ships but also light weight modules for a wide range of industrial application are manufactured. Deck modules applied in cruise ships as well as parts for the automobile and airplane industry.

BALTEC Fastferries are very fuel efficient due to the light weight construction as they only need a small propulsion system. But not only fuel costs are saved, the reduced CO2 emission helps keeping the environment clean.

Epoxy vessels do not show corrosion or potential to crack as aluminium type vessels do. The long-term maintenance costs for the durable and tough surface material are much less compared to common ferries
